Jeremy Hayden, 41, who was found dead at his home on Tuesday, Oct. 29, had been Monroe’s town attorney since he was appointed by First Selectman Ken Kellogg in December 2017.
"I am deeply saddened by the sudden passing of our Town Attorney, Jeremy Hayden," said Kellogg. "My deepest sympathies to his family on this tragic loss. He will be greatly missed."
In addition to serving as town attorney, Hayden also served the town in the past as a member of the Planning & Zoning Commission, and for several years on the Inland Wetlands Commission, Kellogg said.
According to Hayden’s LinkedIn page, he graduated from Newtown High School in 1996, before heading to the University of Connecticut, graduating in 2000. He earned a law degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2005.
Reportedly, Hayden was found unresponsive at his home by Monroe Police after receiving a 911 call. A cause of death has not been released.
Funeral services have not been announced.
